St Joseph's Rotherhithe

Literacy Leaders

Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak and listen in a way that lets us communicate effectively and make sense of the world.

Being a Literacy Leader is an important job that helps our whole school community at St Joseph’s. This special role involves promoting reading, writing, and oracy skills for everyone, from the youngest children to the teachers.

The Literacy Leaders:

  • Write for our school's children's newsletter.
  • Organise and tidy the school libraries.
  • Promote reading, writing, and oracy skills across the school.
  • Help Mrs. Boylan lead special assemblies, like on World Book Day and Storytelling Assemblies.
  • Be a dedicated leader for the entire school year.
