Makaton Ambassadors

As an inclusive school who places a huge emphasis on Pupil Leadership, we have introduced a new Leadership Role: Makaton Ambassadors. These children impressed us with their applications and their passion certainly shone through.

We hope that being a Makaton Ambassador will help to drive our children's ambitions and make them leaders of the future.

What will a Makaton Ambassador be responsible for at St. Joseph’s?

Being an ambassador for St. Joseph’s
Introduce new signs for the whole school community to learn
Learn and teach the school community signs for our hymns/songs/carols
Promote the use of Makaton and help their classmates to learn the weekly signs
Attend weekly meetings/sessions at lunchtime to discuss/learn new signs
Be dedicated to this role for the whole academic year 2024-2025
