Goldilocks in the nursery
The nursery children have been learning about fairytale stories recently. We decided to have some porridge, just like the Three Bears. But it was too hot! We went for a stroll and when we came back we discovered some missing porridge and a turned over chair! Upon further inspection and much creeping about it transpired Goldilocks was asleep in a bed! When she woke up she got a shock and ran away!
Fairytales are very rich in language and a great way to develop listening/attention, understanding and speaking skills, Acting out the stories help bring them to life and makes the experience fun and memorable. This will help imbed the language.
You do not need to go out and buy books for this. Your local library will have plenty of traditional tales and modern versions which can be great fun. They often also have stories from around the world too.
