St Joseph's Times Tables Summer Challenge

By the end of year 4, all children should be able to recall their multiplication facts and related division facts to 12 x 12. It is vital to be able to recall them quickly and accurately to prepare them for their KS2 SATS at the end of year 6. To support their learning we are pleased to inform you that we are continuing the St Joseph’s Times Table Summer Challenge!

Each child from year 2 to year 5 will be given some Times Tables Challenges to encourage them to learn their tables appropriate for their year group over the holidays. This will prepare them for their next year group.
We ask that you encourage them to practice their tables regularly throughout the holidays so that they become fluent and fast in their recall.
In September they will take part in a whole class challenge to complete their timed times tables challenge within 3 minutes and achieve a minimum of 58 out of 60. Those children in each class who complete the challenge in the time given will receive a prize!

Below are the Times Tables expectations for the year group they will be going into:

Year 3: 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and the related division facts

Year 4: all and the related division facts to 10 x 10

Year 5: all and the related division facts to 12x 12

Year 6: all and the related division facts to 12 x 12 including decimals
