Year 5/6 Hockey Tournament

Our year 5/6 hockey team took part in the Southwark wide tournament at the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth Sports Facility in Elephant and Castle.  All team members contributed equally.  We had a very good run in the group stages, winning three games and drawing one particularly exciting encounter.  This meant we won the group and advanced to the quarter finals.  Unfortunately we came unstuck here in another close game against a good team.  A little slice of luck on a couple of breaking balls and maybe we would have levelled the game.  However, such is sport and there are important lessons in defeat too.  We are very proud of our children who gave their all and can be very happy with their efforts and performance, in the mix once again with the top performing teams.  Congratulations to St. Joseph`s School Camberwell who won the tournament.
