School Meals
SCHOOL MEALS
From September 2012, if you have a child in reception to year 6, they will be eligible for a free, healthy school lunch
There are two dinner settings (1) Infants (2) Juniors. There is no distinction between those paying and those who are having free meals. Children are allowed to bring a packed lunch if parents wish. This has to be put in writing to the school and if children wish to change back to having dinners again this is only allowed at the beginning of term or half-term and another letter to the school is needed. Dinner money should be paid on a Monday morning for the week. Money should be put in an envelope with your child’s name and class written on it. No change is given, but it will be carried over to the following week.
The children are well supervised during their break times. There is 1 Senior Midday Supervisor and 5 Midday Supervisors who support the Head and Teaching Staff.
SWEETS AND FOOD
Please do not send sweets or other snacks to school for break times. Again they cause squabbles and upsets and the children should not need extra bits and pieces between meals. Occasionally there may be a tuck shop for the junior children. Drinking water is always available
FREE SCHOOL MEALS
Parents on Job Seekers Allowance/ Income Support or Child Tax Credit can apply for free school meals for their child.
